So, over one of the recent Holidays (Xmas), I was chatting with my maternal unit. The questions of spending came up for the family, and I mentioned that she was, essentially, like the Democrats in our family -- she was the fiscally responsible one unlike dad who does some truly whacky shit, and does it frequently. She was not impressed, so I tried to make the point that has been made on the 'lamestream media' of late, that under Democrats, the Federal Deficit has grown by a substantially smaller rate than under Reagan era Retardicans. Indeed, Reagan was the WORST for our economy based on that measure. Further, Clinton was the best since he had the projected surplus that Bush managed to flush into oblivion with his 'economic policies'. My mother retorted that Obama 'didn't have two wars to contend with' and that was proof that Bush was a much better fiscal watchdog.

Um, hello? Bush started the second war under entirely bullshit pretenses, abandoned the first war mid-stream because it wasn't flashy enough clearly (setting the stage for the Great Job Abandoner, i.e. Sarah Palin), and funded neither fucking war at all. Hell, he intentionally kept them off the main balance sheet, just to improve his numbers for the photo-ops, rather than the actuality that he was burning up our money at a truly alarming rate.

Gotta love the Faux News/Rush Limbaugh fake-news-spin-machine.
