Hrm. Heroes, "The Line"
2007-Nov-04, Sunday 09:28 pmWell, I have to say I'm growing less interested and more disappointed with the series as it progresses into this season.
So far, we've seen a good many of the characters who have 'miraculously' forgotten who they are, through a variety of ... rather cheap plot devices. A lot of the suspense that ought to be building is being doled out by almost identical methods and procedures as the first season, without any clear indication of what's actually wrong with the situation, save that The Company is all encompassing evil. A fact we'd known already from the first season.
Also, I'm getting just a tad sick of the 'I'm an outsider, I'm an outcast, no one could possibly know what I'm going through!' vibe from the new and old characters alike. Everyone who made it through from Season 1 should be getting their shit together already. It just feels far too contrived right now. Maybe I'm too jaded to that idea given that I'm a fag and all, and felt that way for a GREAT many years myself, and then I came to grips with it and moved on. But the heroes from the first season also had to 'come out' to their counterparts, realize there were others like them, and that being 'special' doesn't mean you have answers, just a greater ability than average. Ah well. Maybe they'll actually move on soon.
So far, I'm going to have to give it 1.5 stars of 5. I'll give it two more episodes, but if nothing catches my eye, they probably will lose me altogether, unfortunately.
