To not get discouraged for being gay because of the parents and Church. Don't be afraid to explore it, and don't be afraid of being who you are. Finally, don't be afraid of embracing the BDSM side of your heart and soul, and for fuck's sake, do NOT do anything else than fuck around with Mat/Kyle, nor with Mike. They're poison, and soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo not worth it.

Having real, solid self confidence. Bullies pick on the 'weak' and most of the time it's just perceived weakness. If we raised our kids to truly, absolutely believe in themselves (not in an old pedophile in a dress, nor in the Giant Invisible My Buddy doll they preach), a LOT of the bullying in schools and life would vanish.

Pete Pudans, at Borders. He was the guy that would clearly not feel good about himself unless he'd made at least one staffer cry before his end of shift. I'm not making that up; he was constantly driving several of the staffers into tears.
I REALLY wanted to, but I made a bargain to get out of that job so I never followed up on the discrimination and harassment litigation. I don't think he works there any more, at least I REALLY hope he doesn't.

It would depend on the power.
If it was super-beneficial without any obvious 'drawbacks', sure.
If it was like mind-control, or phasing, or teleporting without error without seeing/knowing the landing zone (like a bank vault or such) or the ability to turn humans into liquid messes within 1.2 seconds of starting, then I'd probably want to keep it relatively secret lest folk get .... antsy about it.

Getting very drunk because Camping is a fucking mental defective, and those that willingly follow him are even worse. Maybe this would actually WAKE THEM UP and start a 'real' End.... The end of belief in the lies of the Church as a whole, and Televangelists/Radio Personalities that try to pretend to Truth. That would be worthy of a very drunken celebration to me.

I like to think that my first reaction would be relief at this 'solution' to so many contradictions and badly constructed ideas, but I honestly think it'd be equally possible I'd spend a year in a near-vegetative state as I struggled to try and break through into the 'next' world from the one I was 'woken' in.

When that information is revealing deceit or anti-democratic standards and behavior or obvious criminal activity, yes definitely. When it is revealing classified troop movement information, no.
The former should be obvious. Just because a company or government declares something 'classified' it doesn't remove the reality that the activity is illegal. The government is not above the law, the Executive Branch (despite what BushCo tried to have us believe) is not above the law. There are all sorts of perfectly legal means of enforcing the law. Trying to cover up the wholesale slaughter of innocent lives by contractors or soldiers is not acceptable in any context. And on that same level, it's equally unacceptable to try and repaint a soldier (hunky though he was) as a 'hero' and saving all this life valorously when the reality was he was killed stupidly by friendly fire. These are all things that we, as the supporters of that government, have a right to know and should have bearing on the manner we treat our officials and elections.
When such information serves no other purpose than to endanger lives or again reveal perfectly legal governmental activities, then no. That is where it crosses the line.
In the case of some of those leaked State Dept. wires, I think they were fully reasonable to be revealed. While it didn't reveal anything 'untoward' about the manner in which cables are routed, nor about what was said (so many other countries almost literally laughed it off given how .... negative their own cables can get), I do believe that it showed some highly questionable if not illegal activities pushed by former Sec. of State Rice and current Sec. Clinton. THAT, again, makes such revelations justified.

That America was shown that we are no better or different than any other country. That the fruits of what we'd sown (constantly fucking around in other, sovereign nations' domestic affairs) finally bore 'real' fruit. That if we were wise, and clever, we could be the strongest best nation in the world by leading by example, by moving beyond race, religion, politics, or any other faux measure of divisiveness and actually helping the world lift itself out.
Yeah. And I'm still waiting for my pony, too.

Well, I definitely approve of public schooling. However, having been sent to a Catholic school from 1-8th grades, I can also say that when I went to public school for High School in CO after we moved, the curriculum for public was about 18 months behind what I'd done in private. It was actually rather pathetic, to me, to see how lagged it was. As well as how simplistic the testing was, and all the means of verifying things learned. It was quite a rude awakening at the time to see just how sad the education infrastructure was/is. I'm all for public education, but I'm also all for parity among the types of education. Funding for education (primary, secondary, and extended), health and domestic safety should never, ever be an issue. It's no wonder the Religious Nutballery in this country continues to thrive when they help knowingly dumb down the curriculum in public education, and then encourage their membership to dumb down their kids further with home schooling.

I'm a 'mall-crystal-buyer' as it happens. I've kept several small quartz crystals around/with me since I was in High School actually. One always goes with me wherever I go, and others go with me when they tell me it's time to go. Sounds gooky and nutty I know, but there we are.

Writer's Block: Take a (second) chance on me

Once I get to the point where I'm 'done' with someone, usually I'll try and make an effort to tell them precisely why I'm done with them. Then, if they claim to have fixed those issues, great, I'll give them a second chance. If they repeat the same problems, I'm very done with them then. The unfortunate reality though has been that even with the second chance and such, the other person tends to have that personality quirk/trait/issue/subscription already ingrained, so the likelihood is that there isn't any 'easy' fix for the problem that caused the rift in the first place. So, it takes a lot to convince me that there's a solid, reliable reason to keep trying again and again to help them fix it since they clearly can't or won't on their own.
Other times, when things just aren't 'working' right between myself and someone, I'll just take a leave of absence for a while, trying to step back and see what's going on with me, to figure out where my issues are coming from. If they're things that seemingly can be fixed I'll reenter with a few choice conversations about what and why, and see what happens. If not, then I usually don't bother. Life is too short, after all.

Right wing zealot nutballs. Since I came out, and just a bit before. No; the only solution will be when America and the World at Large grows up, remembers that religion is only a guideline for living a good, decent life here, and that the words have lost any semblance of 'reality' or 'direct transcription' from the "Holy Books" long, long ago. They need to get over it. And grow up.

Absolutely. Carl's Jr. That disgusting, vile, white-trashy ad campaign of theirs 'If it doesn't get all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face'. Yeah. The last thing I find appealing or appetizing is to *listen* to someone eating like that. What's amusing is I even wrote to Carl's via their website to make my voice heard. I got a canned response back signed by some VP about how sometimes their campaigns go over the top, etc. etc. with an assurance to check into it. Nothing happened, so I have held to my word for years and years now and not stepped foot in a Carl's since.

My personal religion. It gives me the best insight into myself, others, and the nature of the universe itself. It allows me to be generally aware and 'with it' for the universe itself, and in many cases, deal with the daily stress and strain we all endure.
I think it's important to change the world in some fundamental way before you die. For some, this will be something as simple as demonstrating that bigotry and hate and such can be overcome. For others, it will mean something similar to 'paying it forward'. Just leaving the world even a marginally better place for your life is what is key.

I think it's quite likely. I have no idea which, but in a few million years, I am relatively sure another species would arise to become similarly dominant. This of course presumes there isn't a nuclear or other entirely destructive reason for the removal of all humans from the planet.
As to what they'd learn from our mistakes? Nothing at all. By the time they achieved similar enlightenment or awareness, our culture and civilization will be entirely lost, reclaimed by the planet anyway. The only way lessons would be passed on is if we were to cultivate the species, and then teach them our entire history as well as give them the entire library of all our records to be used as reference. Otherwise, the new species would have to pursue their own paths, wherever they may lead.
