On the previews for "Black on Broadway," you say that you finally got your HBO Special. Speculation is that in the FCC's barrage for censorship, they're going to go after HBO next, even though HBO is cable and...
"They can't. And if they think they're going to do that, then they're really gonna push things to shove. The biggest mistake the FCC makes is that they (think they) can delegate what decency is. Every reaction causes an equal and opposite reaction, and in fact, it's gonna come from a place where they have no idea. There are kids who are gonna explode stuff onto the internet in terms of what they consider indecent. 'Cause once you try to sit on it, it comes through the cracks.
They're crazy! Let's go, let's go, let's go on that one! Let's let them go after a group of adults who are paying money to watch what programming you wanna watch. Let's go do that! As paranoid as I get, I believe that the FCC's ruling in part was done in order to force radio to go more into pay radio. What do you think, Howard (Stern is) gonna disappear? And the bottom line is, the most disgusting and disturbing thing is, we're adults. This isn't high school! You're not the principal! I'm the same age you are. Stop it! OK?
The thing is you evolve and so does your country, and if any of those idiots would spend more than a day and a half in Europe and look at the posters there they'd realize those children are still better educated than ours and none of 'em seem to be suffering from some sort of a problem and most of 'em mature faster. A friend of mine went to Europe and came back when he was 15, and he was, like, 35 and I was, like, 9. They've got a culture, and we don't. We act like we have one. You don't create a culture by sitting on one. Kids aren't gonna destroy America."

Even though he's kind of like a more modern, and breathing, version of Sam Kinison, I still loved the hell out of Sam for doing just this: bringing political ideas and disgust to the forefront of popular culture. Even if there are things I dislike, at least he's got the guts to stand up for his beliefs, and not let them waver in any manner even when under Executive Threat..... errr, I mean National Security.
