Having been a fan of it for more than 15 years already, I can only say that the reimagining of it left only a very few things to desire for the things that necessarily were removed, and left nothing at to desire for makeup, costuming, sets, acting, performance, and general ambience. It was a masterwork. Just insanely gruesome and gory and visually charged. If anyone is in the mood to be creeped out to the extreme, I definitely would say to go and see it. Depp and Carter are just beyond imagination, and Rickman delivers a typical, average performance. Which for him means he outshines a great many other actors every time he's on screen.
