OMFG.

1> I just watched, for the first time, the seminal classic Friday the 13th. Wow. I really should have watched it when I could rent R rated films the first time. It wouldn't have been nearly so awful and .... just awful back then. Now, it's just flat-out terrible. Sure, I can see where a lot of genre pics developed the groundwork laid out in this movie. Sure, I'm sure it was scary as hell for 1980, when it was first made. And at least the killer had a motive, not that made any rational sense (she is entirely whacko after all), but still. But overall, I'm glad I rented it because what a waste of money that'd have been in any other context.

2> The Eye Creatures ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059161/ ). Wow. 1960's shlock creature feature tripe at it's finest. I mean, the eye creatures were a full Michelin Man type creature outfit to start with. The script was atrocious, and the characters were .... well to say dumb as Fuckhead and rice having produced offspring would be vastly overstating their capabilities. Really it was teenage braincandy and escapism. But the best part of this terrible flick? That the studio could only afford one eye creature body suit. So the 5 suit actors on the screen at once all had the head/shoulders piece, but 4 of them were just in all black below that. They tried to hide this by having the other actors behind cars or trees or whatnot, with only the headpiece showing, but since they weren't static, you could still tell. HILARIOUSLY bad. I wish Crow had commented on it; it's definitely deserving of a place of honor in MST3K. ;)
