So I got the HD capture card to work with Windows 7 Media Center finally, as well as getting the component video and optical audio in to work as well. It were AWESOME. Now I can finally nab shows in HD, which is rather amusing given how HUGE they are on the computer monitor now. ;) And now I can finish migrating all my MP3's to the Media Center for easier streaming around the apt., AND start figuring out how to use Exact Audio Copy fully to create FLAC rips of all my audio CD's. Finally, I found a rather nifty tool (Bigasoft's WTV Converter) to take Media Center recordings and transcode them to ... well, basically anything else. Now to get the Commercial Skip tools installed and configured properly, and I should be able to get delights like Triathlon competition, various cycling and football and even Olympics available for H.264 reproduction, sans commercials, and ready for more detailed home enjoyment and archiving. ;)

Anyway, success is mine! It makes me quite happy. And now for the Snoozings, which are very much past due.
