Wow.......

Well, after the horrible abortion that House of the Dead was, I also rented Resident Evil (mostly in preparation for the sequel, due out next year). And I just watched it.

And what a massive difference that is. A kick ass suspense/thriller/gore fest with a *gasp* plot! And not to mention fairly decent performances.

Definitely need to .... *ahem* find a copy of this DVD for myself now.

Nope. I'd assumed it would be a silly, cheesy knockoff, much like House of the Dead. But I was horribly incorrect on that one. I enjoyed the hell out of HotD, so I thought I'd see what they'd done. But they just tried to Hulk-ify it by all those snippets of the game that had little to do with the action on the screen, and so forth. Too goofy. RE, though, was just captivating.
