Old series inquiry

Just a quick question for those out there.

Once upon a time, back in the ... late 70's, early 80's I think, there was a TV show that had a rather short shelf life, unfortunately.  It was about a parapalegic that was given an armor suit that allowed him to walk and gave him loads of other enhancements.  I recall, too, that there was a limited activity time for the suit, because its batteries would wear down.  And, he had to be sealed into the suit by laying in a full body mold that then had the top pressed down atop him.

Does anyone remember what that was?  I just recalled the existence of the series, and I recall now why I liked it so very much.

I know the show you're talking about. Additionally, one of the limits was the fact that the suit seal only carried a limited oxygen supply, in addition to the limits of the batteries. I don't recall what it was, but I do know the show you're talking about.

He kept the suit in the back of his big box van, along with the equipment to put himself into it.

Indeed. There were lots of fun little reality checks in the show, to be sure. But I also seem to recall the suit being nicely arousing to my young mind, for the roboticization/mechanization angles. I can't believe I forgot it until today, but there we are.

Huh? The guy made the suit out of barrels that had been mis-manufactured and happened to be bullet-proof. He was the orginal shape of Bender, the robot!

There was a similar show from 94-95' called mantis. Which also had an interesting "suit"

I do recall that one as well. It wasn't as ... pleasing a suit, as I recall, to the other show. But it wasn't too bad. Alas that the spandex undersuit wasn't shinier. ;)
