Recent sightings of unexpectedness
2004-Feb-26, Thursday 12:14 amSean Astin: I went and saw 50 First Dates yesterday. First let me say it was truly enjoyable. Both laugh out loud hilarious for more than just some toilet humor and many obvious knockoffs of Ace Ventura, and a rather touching love story/performance by Drew Barrymore. However, it also had Sean Astin in it as her brother, a 'roid using idiot. An idiot who opted to be in spandex shorts a good deal through the movie, and there's a scene where he opts to flex his glutes rather blatantly for the camera. Oh, YUM! Not as ripped as I might like for a bodybuilder, sure, but he's still rather hot. :)
Elijah Wood: I got Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over yesterday as well, at Blockbuster. (Incidentally, they're running a really kick-ass promotion. Bring in any DVD, in the box you got it in, with the cover and as much of the guts as you can, and ensure the DVD is in good condition, and you get a new release film from a specific selection for $12.99. They even take their own previously viewed, direct-to-video releases back for the same credit. THAT is awesome, since I got stuck with a few total lemon movies during their buy one, get one promo.) Yes, yes, it's a kid's show, but it's a rather nifty concept, albeit rather tried and done. However, Elijah makes a little cameo appearance as The Guy, a cyber savior of sorts. And DAMN does he fill out that spandex and silver armor rather nicely. ;)
