Two steps forward....

Well, I guess we had a breakthrough and then a breakdown yesterday.

For a while now, I've had no end of problems with BJ realizing that he IS actually allowed to eat, from his bowl, without me standing over him, encouraging him on every few bites. However, yesterday, he finally just chowed down out of his bowl with no encouragement, no reinforcement needed. Hooray!

But then, he decided that he was completely entitled to crash on my bed, on the pillows.

Um, no?

So, after several little bouts of stubborn pooch, I think I finally got through that such is not allowed in this apt. Now, though, because of how touchy he is, he's back on the not-eating thing. So help me, that fucker who had him previously better never cross my path.

I know I've probably just missed this info someplace, but how old are we talking, here?

That's a big unknown. The previous owner, the one who was appallingly abusive, wasn't real forthcoming with details beyond that he wanted to have poor BJ shot rather than keep him any longer. I'm estimating somewhere between 6 and 8.
