You know it's a sign of a doomed culture when ever A-1 is advertising their carb count in the ads.

I saw the "atkins friendly" breakfast thingy for Carl's Jr the other day. Sausage patty, giant blob of greasy-looking cheese, egg, and various other fat-saturated objects, all with only '5 grams of carbs!'

Good grief. Thank you Atkins, for providing hospitals with a never-ending source of stupid people with serious health problems. Remember kids! Gout is slimming! :D

You know what's even sadder to me?

I was watching .... errr, something, the other day. I think it was on Oxygen or some such odd cable net channel thingy. Anyway, they were interviewing some woman about the SoBe diet. And she was saying that in a carb concious lifestyle it was important to not eat the processed, nor fast absorption carbs. One of veggies listed by her to definitely avoid because of that? Carrots.

Because ghods know that all those people who have done a more calorie-tracked-and-intensive diet with exercise have just dropped dead because of the carrots in their diet.

I just can't believe how sheepish people can be.

Stick a "Ph.D" at the end of your name, and people will believe whatever the fuck you tell them.

I'll have to remember that.

Now to figure out a way to tell stupid people to give me their money.

I got onto the Atkins bandwagon weeks before it became a tremendous marketing force. I have to say it worked for me.

But the whole lo-carb thing is really starting to piss me off. I see it 'everywhere'. Low-carb ranch salad dressing for a buck more? Uhh, yeah, ranch dressing is 'already' low-carb. That extra '1 gram' per serving is going to make the difference between being slim and being a whale.

Now I stay away from anything being marketed as 'low-carb'. I managed to lose 30 pounds without buying anything overpriced.

Eventually I tried out a few of those products to the detriment of my wallet. Not anymore.
