Half an update

Wow. Can I just say that even in California, we have pure, down-home, good old fashioned red neck fun?![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
hinoki and I went up to San Francisco yesterday to hit the Red Bull Flugtag. What a proto-moster-truck-rally that was. Synopsis: Teams of 2-5 hand make 'flying machines' and launch them off a 30' high platform trying to get as much distance as possible. The longest we saw before leaving was 33'. Judging is based on distance, flight, and general amusement value, as well as the prelaunch show each team can put on. Unretouched pics can be found here: http://latex.sdpub.org/flugtag They'll be quite large, since that's the way the camera takes them before Photoshop and I work some magic. (And hopefully the server won't cough up a hairball because of the traffic). Bear in mind, I went primarily to get shots of men in wetsuits. They were there, and two REALLY caught my eye. So expect lots of 'em. ;)
On the way back, after the humor had worn thin enough, we stopped off at Half Moon Bay. What a nightmare. Naturally they had some Halloween gatherings going on, which tied up traffic for 2/3 the distance on 92. But, once there..... Oh my. Those that know me, know why I go to the beach at all. And, yes, there were several VERY lovely nuggets of eye candy for me there. And, yes, I picked up many too many pictures of said candy as well. Posting will be done separately, and only to those that request access.
