I mean, hey, if it weren't for him, I'd probably never even have heard about that job out in VA. And then I wouldn't have been competing against so many local candidates that even after the first gate of the temp agency, I got canned because they had so many local leads. Hooray for that.

Ah well. At least Borders came through with the offer. Now to see what I can do to make ends meet until then, since they won't be hiring me until the second week of August at the earliest.

Hrm. Maybe I should look into a job at the Unemployment office where I can get paid big dollars by being wholly incompetent in 'supporting' those people who are really trying to find gainful employment.

Yep. That's one reason I was happy to leave the state. That whole 'illegals legally allowed to receive social programs' bullshit was just one of the many goofball, absurdities that CA has going that makes it just so fucking expensive to live in.
