*smirks* Mostly it gives the 'fun' and goofy technology of Lightscribe and allows me to replace OOOOOOOLD technology of parallel ATA. The latest spec by Intel for motherboards actually doesn't have PATA in it any more. And for under $40 with that kind of speed, it's just awesome. So there. ;)
