Finished Season 3 Doctor Who
2007-Aug-05, Sunday 03:51 pmScripts this season weren't as .... involved, I felt as the last two.
Nor did they yield as much 'good' interplay with the Doctor. Much of the characters felt like post-it notes on a bus, just sorta flapping around in the breeze without much actual weight, and as soon as the bus moved, they were gone. Pointless.
Martha Jones. Huh. I'm amazingly glad they took her out of the series. AMAZINGLY glad. In a lot of ways I felt they were deliberately forcing a lot of annoying, aggravating crap from her because they were trying so desperately to not have a knock off of Rose, who I felt was truly and utterly amazing, in just about every way. Well, at least the next season, they'll have to have a new companion, and maybe we'll get extremely lucky and they'll drag in a cute boy. Maybe.
The Master. YAYYYY! Always my favorite recurring villain of the bunch. MMMmmm, Yin-Yang fights are the best in scifi. And who can top his laser screw driver (Who's want sonic?)? ;) And a fine actor they got for his part at that. Here's hoping he makes a return this next season too.
Oh, and I did like what ended up happening with Capt. Jack. At least that will lend a lot more validity to the whole Torchwood spinoff, which I felt it lacked this first season as well.
Ok, now to wait for SSN 4 and see if it lives up to the first two.

on 2007-Aug-06, Monday 01:41 am (UTC)I too like what they did with the Capt Jack character...
I still think that the first episode and Blink were the best 2 out of the season and Blink barely had The Doctor in it.
