Those of you who know her and my relationship with her will understand now why it's critical that everyone see and rave about this movie. ;)

What's even funnier was that until this little snippet I was kind of torn about seeing the picture, given what a horrible movie I thought Bridge to Taribithia was. This looked like another bad knock off of the Chronicles formula, and likely still is, in the end. But now at least I understand more of the plot and feel more inclined to see it, regardless of the 'killing God' connotations.

If you read the books, the Golden Compass is FINE, aside from the whole 'corrupt church' thing. They don't really godbash or anything.

What I love dearly is the fact that the link the Snopes article provides to the retarded Cat-lick site (http://catholicleague.org/catalyst.php?year=2007&month=October&read=2322) says that:
"It is important that all Christians, especially those with children or grandchildren, read this booklet. Anyone who does will be armed with all the ammo they need to convince friends and family members that there is nothing innocent about Pullman's agenda. ... If it's so important to get the word out about this TERRIBLE movie that promises to be a gateway drug to atheism for children, why are you ASKING FOR MONEY FOR THE INFORMATION?

Oh wait, cause you're the money-grubbing Catholic League. Sorry. I forgot that money is more important than any issue, even that of a movie possibly turning all your kids atheist. Fucks.

Oh, I'd never, ever try and defend anything those nutballs do any longer. In the name of God, they've perpetrated horrific crimes against humanity and the God they purport to believe in. And they continue to do it down through time.

As with my political agenda of freedom, liberty and equality for ALL (regardless of any religion, orientation, color, creed, or anything at all), I'd hope one day that these people do die a premature death, that the God they purport to worship does exist, and He's able to cast them out for their bullshit games and lies, just so they realize that supposed unconditional love doesn't mean loving only those that look, think, and say what you want them to.
