Humorous projections back from the late 90's

The industries of America were so terrified of things going horribly wrong if they signed on to Kyoto. My favorite had to be that gas would be *gasp!* 66 cents per gallon by 2010 if they had to deal with Kyoto's absurdity of reducing CO2 emissions. If only. And looking at more of the others, they've come true or been exceeded. And we never did sign. Instead we stayed 'rogue' and did our own thing. Good thing too! I am terrified to think what our economy might have been set back if we'd burned up the billions of dollars fixing the infrastructure, education and environment instead of beating down a country that was known and ultimately proven to be no threat to us in the slightest.
