*grins* Oh, nono. I know Akira, the original anime, only too well. I have the limited edition DVD thingy that was released a few years ago.
Nono, the link I posted was the first I'd heard of a live-action version of the movie being made. And I'm not sure whether to be terrified or horrified. The first being a good thing because the adaptation will be Teh Awesome and will fill me with the same wonder and fear that the first few times I watched the original did. The latter would just be a sham of a movie, with shameless pandering and diminishment of the original story and quality of the animated brilliance.
Time will tell! Of course, time will tell if this project is just going to have crib-death as well. :)
