Ubuntu oddity

ssurgulAnd is it just me? Or does Hardy seem to have an abnormally large amount of fixes happening for it, including 3 kernel updates as well? It isn't THAT old, and yet, as soon as I installed it there were over 70 updates to be made. And now, after that, there are weekly about 50-90 updates to be made as well. Hooray for getting the fixes made and all, but .... Ummmmm, doesn't that seem just a touch excessive? Particularly when one of the 'fixes' in Samba broke basic functionality that was working for a very long time prior?
