My, my, watching the oldies is definitely worth the time and effort from time to time, as it lets you track slang against when it used to be far different.

Today on Bonanza, which I'm watching because I'm lazily filling out LJ and other things, I happened to see Michael Landon talking with John Astin (Yes, that's Gomex Addams, for those tracking such) who introduced himself as the following person:

Abner Willaby, an able-bodied seaman, headed to Glory Hole.

Why do I feel like I'm in a bad cabaret act on Will And Grace?
