So, last night while waiting for a table to open up at the bestest place for TACOS in the area (On The Border, $1 Taco Tuesday nights), I was ..... discussing some things with a rather obvious plasticine Republican. It stunned me to see the bullshit psycho thoughtgames they play first hand. I didn't vote for the tax levy up here for an increase in school funding. Why? I'm not going to have kids, and if the Republican machine gets their way across the board, I'll never be allowed to adopt a kid, lest I infect the poor, innocent child with The Gay. When she found out I hadn't voted for the levy, the first words out of her mouth were "I have never heard something so unAmerican before in my life!"

Whenever something happens that is against whatever the 'Pubs hold as the policy-du-jour, it's unAmerican, it's activism, it's whatever-ism. I really just want them to fall into a nice, big vat of acid, get reduced to component elements, and use those to refertilize our heartland. At least then, those whackos will have some tangible benefit to the country rather than just spewing lies, and hurling aspersions without even the faintest semblance of understanding of what's going on.

Despite my hating kids and not wanting any, nor even wanting to ever have to see or hear them, I tend to vote for any increases in funding for education. The way I look at it is that the smarter the kids of today are, the less likely they'll grow up to be Plasticine Republicans.

I wish that were the case. In general, it may well be, but people like Michelle Bachman had to come from somewhere. And despite Congressman Weiner's assertion last night that it might have been some sort of mothership, some parent, somewhere is responsible for that nightmare. And every other nightmare on the hill. Remember, too, that most of those folks are lawyers, especially in the Senate. Education doesn't necessarily fix people, nor prevent them from degenerating into this nightmare that we have today.

I wish I could of made it last night, but I had pizza and a fun skype date with a pipe daddy...

I always vote for education increases. I remember they kept cutting things I wanted to in highschool because the funding went away. I figured it's my duty to at least pay the most in taxes for kids. I don't mind all that much.

Well, it would have been far, far, far preferrable to chat with you than to be accosted by that random woman-thing. As to the funding in school, I didn't really experience that. My folks footed the bill for me to go to private school (read Catholic School) from 1-8. They paid the bill exclusively, as well as the tax burden to pay for other kids to attend the substandard standard education. I genuinely feel it's on the parents to provide for the kids. If I'm 'allowed' to be a parent one day, not that I'm likely to want to be one anyway, then I'd rethink the position.

I like to think of long term selfishness. So I'm more than happy to pay taxes for kids just in case I ever have any. I know I do not want kids... borrow them occasionally as a gift to family.

And here I thought Republicans were absolutely opposed to any tax, anywhere, for any reason.

They've shown themselves to be opposed to everything and anything. Unless it directly impacts them. Then suddenly it's unAmerican to do not do what they say.
