SciFi partner swappings

I am continually amazed by the volume of actors that travel the circuits between shows. Watching all this X-Files on Instant Watch has shown a whole heap of actors that were here, and then went on to the Stargate franchise. So far, there has been Samantha Carter and two of the Big, Bad Goa'uld including Apophis. It's just hilarious, really, seeing them when they were even younger, and keeping them in mind for more recent roles as well. Very disconcerting but entertaining. :)

Generally, it happens a lot because they're local to the Vancouver area - where most of these things are filmed these days.

Local talent pool, and all that.

Indeed. Not that it's a bad place to film; some of the prettiest outdoor scenery of all. I just wonder how many of them also get nods and 'ins' because of the other actors/producers/directors that have worked with them on previous projects/shows. Inbreeding and incest is rampant in all media production, of course, and I'm just mildly curious how far it goes with some great science fiction shows.

And of course how I might eventually break into such circles to get to try and arrange some private time with Dan Payne as the Super Soldier from SG-1. Or other delightful suit actors of his caliber. ;)
