How I love Microsoft

Not only do they release radically different interfaces, just to fuck with the public's understanding of how their software works, but when uninstalling Office Pro 2007 I managed to locate (using Revo Uninstaller) 29638 leftover registry entries. MMMmmmmm, delicious software that they manage to shit all over their own tool (registry) even as they warn folk that excess entries in the registry can cause system degradation and problems.

No one has quite mastered the ancient arts of Phu-queue like MS.

All excellent arguments for Open Office. :)

*grins* If it was as developed as Office was, and was acceptable for work/school, I'd do it in a SECOND.

I guess it'll just have to be an add-on to my 'main' project I've got cooking in my brain to get a decent word processor/spreadsheet/presentation/project tool built as well. :)

Of course these are equally good arguments for Office Live (which looks an awful lot like Office 2010 but runs via the web finally) or Google Docs. Except for the very granular controls available via Office, these online apps offer a good deal of available functionality too, including a MUCH easier method of sharing and collaborating. :)

I'd say Apple earned their blackbelt in Phu-queue after the iphone 4 release.

Hey! There's nothing wrong with the phone. You're holding it wrong! And if you feel you're not holding it wrong, then clearly you need one of those aftermarket skins/cases. That's what matters in this, not fixing and preventing problems, but laying the blame on the consumer and/or demanding additional purchases to correct a non-consumer problem.

Yay, I think you're dead-on WRT Apple. I'm also deeply concerned for the long-haul for OSX. They don't seem to be very quick on updates, and there has been a virus introduced for OSX now. So, it looks like they're going to need to get off their asses and deal with problems head on. And soon.
