Sometimes ideas for integration into some sort of novel pop into my head. I guess I should take the time, at some point, to actually jot them down.
Alzheimer's/senility: What if the notion of these diseases is misunderstood somewhat. Those afflicted don't actually 'forget' anything. No, rather, they're in an odd stage of reincarnation. Their minds are partially transferred already to the new host as an infant. Normally this would be incredibly rare, but with over-population this becomes increasingly common as the soul-substance of our existence (whatever species is under consideration) is limited, and the recycling process is being needlessly accelerated because of it....
Not really sure how or where this might integrate into a storyline, or if it would just be a catalyst to another, but there it is.
