A roller coaster ride that simply won't stop. Even when you think it's ready to give you a breather, you just missed that chance for the breather.
A movie that questions the fundamental nature of the mind, thought, even consciousness to a degree. It was by far one of the worst mindfuck movies I've seen in a long, long, long time. It took The Matrix Trilogy, jammed it together with What Dreams May Come, and threw in a dash or two of Repo Men just for good measure. The effects are mind-numbing. The storyline is top-notch. Leo and crew are truly just amazing in this movie. After seeing Shutter Island, I wanted to see if he could really pull off this type of movie again. And he definitely rose to that challenge, and then just for spite, exceeded his performance.
Don't believe anyone that says it's 'dumb' or 'lame' or 'too convoluted'. It's a solid 10 in my books, and anyone that can't follow the 'layers' of the plot (you'll understand when you see it) has absolutely no imagination of their own. Maybe they should spend a few hours hooked up in that basement, because that might well be the only way they can dream as well.
