Just something I was thinking about this weekend, while dealing with the new MIS homework.

YHWH and Lucifer are of equal power and majesty. The fabled Silver City existed as a construct of Lucifer's. He was the Shining One, Son of the Morning, Brightest of All. So, he created the Silver City as a reflection of his own brightness and capability. This drew more of the Angels to the City, seeing it across the void. YHWH watched and was in awe of it as well. The Silver City was and is timeless, unchanging, beautiful. It will never fail, it can never be tarnished or even thought of as dirty. It is eternally a reflection of Lucifer's fire.

YHWH and Lucifer debated creation. In the times before the firmament was anything other than a formless void, they debated. They debated long and deep. Lucifer's view of a perfect universe was unchanging, beautiful, without death or corruption -- ceaseless in its form and order. YHWH's view was that without death and corruption, disease and illness and loss, life wouldn't have any meaning at all. They moulded more and more of reality together, never stopping each other -- they likely were in love. But eventually, Lucifer started to realize something. YHWH's creation was infested, it was corruptible, it was mutable. Lucifer realized that this would also mean death and disease, and he grew ever more troubled. His own vision of the world as perfect, ceaseless, timeless and utterly without flaw was failing him due to the creations of YHWH.

After their final discussion, in which Lucifer expressed his disappointment, sorrow, anger, and betrayal at what he viewed of YHWH's activities, he left. Those that had helped him left as well. There was only an ideological war that raged through Heaven. They went to a different area, and tried to build again, tried in vain to make things as they were. Unfortunately, by that time, creation was completed. Only certain pieces in the general vicinity of the Silver City seemed immune to this changing landscape of YHWH's. The notion that death and recycling was 'necessary' had taken hold. Lucifer couldn't comprehend it; it wasn't within his nature. And he was forced to watch as so many of his friends were changed as well, their beautiful angelic forms twisted and corrupted as they were suffused with this creation itself. He weeps to this day for his loss and his 'betrayal' each of the lovers never really able to understand the other, nor their views of why their way works best, and why their mutual Children would be best served by those ideas.
