Dye followup

As a followup, it's .... amazing just how much dye hemp rope will hold. Rinsing it out is turning out to be a relatively challenging undertaking as well. Ah well. Hopefully when all is said and done, it will be tres awesome. :)

Plant fibers in general often take far more dye in than they can absorb...it's not uncommon to get a nice dark color and soak the fabric/cord/yarn and end up with a pastel when all the excess dye rinses if it's not set really, really well.

Indeed. It's retaining that deep purple even after rinsing it thoroughly 4 times now. Next comes the sythaprol wash in hot to flush out all the remaining excess, then tumble dry it again, then pull it one final time over the metal bar, and then treat it with the jojoba oil. All kinds of fun getting this to work, but really, I do still think it's worth it.
