Mass Effect 2
2011-May-02, Monday 07:51 pmSo, I'm often taken with excellent games. I admit it freely, I'm totally a video game junkie and dork.
Mass Effect 2, thus far, has been one entirely fucked up sequel. Like, beyond fucked up. The first game had some good, albeit heavy handed and relatively obvious moral ambiguity WRT the team and such. Easy to spot the solutions.
Yeah, not in this game. It's all shades of gray-grey. And those shades? They've got shades too. It's an insanely convoluted game up until this latest little spat of data. But now..... Legion shows up. HOLY FUCK. Talk about a mind-scrambler. Politics is the art of the possible, and nothing they're detailing in here is outside the realm of the possible, but it's definitely outside the realm of the .... comfortable. What a mindfuck twist this poses. The Heretics and the Old Machines. Wow. Very, very different than what I'd ever have expected.
At least Legion is pretty on board, despite that hole in the chest area thingy.
Now to just wish that Bioware grew up and gave options for the main male character to fall for, and pursue, some of the male crew. It happened in Dragon Age, and ME is in the distant future when such things are clearly beyond concern. Ah well, maybe ME3. :)
