*chortles* Very amusing
2011-May-19, Thursday 03:18 pmCreation of the Humanoids Another in the long series of amusingly goofy oldies Netflix affords me the opportunity to watch. Until the last minute of the flick, I was struck by how similar it was to the Blade Runner themes and ideas. Of course, the end was just to screw with the audience. And I'm sure in its day, it did the job just as nicely as The Ring or What Dreams May Come or The Matrix. Regardless, though, it was very intriguing to be essentially implementing the Laws of Robotics by Asimov. I have no patience to delve too deeply into it, but this might be the first movie that did actually use the Laws to describe man-robot society. Some of the technobabble is incredibly dated and thus highly amusing, but overall, it wasn't bad at all.
